Detectives leading a murder in Helston have issued an appeal to try and identify two potential witnesses.

62-year-old Alison Stevenson was found dead at an address on Meneage Road at the end of May.

Now police are trying to trace two women who were in a white van and may have been in the Gweek area on the same afternoon or evening.

It is thought they may have picked up a man who was hitchhiking, to try to get to Helston.

The two women were described as being local to the Helston area with Australian accents.

"Police investigating the suspicious death of Alison Stevenson, 62, at an address in Meneage Road, Helston, on Tuesday 25th May, are trying to identify two potential witnesses.

"The two people were the driver and passenger of a white van, who may have been in the Gweek area of Cornwall on the same afternoon/evening."
