A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder in Helston has had his bail extended.

It comes following the death of a woman in the town last month.

Police were called to Meneage Road on Tuesday 25th May and a 62-year-old woman was found dead at the property.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed abode and who was known to the woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder the next day.

He was later bailed and officers have now confirmed that has been extended until 19th August.

Speaking at the time, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A murder investigation was launched after police were called to an address in Meneage Road, Helston, and found a 62-year-old woman with neck injuries, who was declared deceased upon arrival."

"Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity, or anything out of the ordinary, in the Greenbank, Bullock Lane and Meneage Street areas of Helston between the evening of Monday 24 May and the morning of Tuesday 25 May."
