Heavy flooding is causing significant problems in Truro City Centre this evening.

Heavy rain this evening has caused major delays, with cars being seen driving through flood water around the Trafalgar Roundabout.

At one stage, the A39 Morlaix Avenue was describe as 'impassable' - though traffic monitoring service Inrix says it's now 'just about passable'.

There's also been praise for members of the public who've been helping clear up some of the worst of the water.

Eyewitness Esme Page has tweeted thanks to 'Carl and his mate from Bridge Street Barbers' who cleared drains of leaves which had washed down the hill - saying it went from 'knee deep to passable in just under an hour!'
