Link for frontline health workers in Cornwall to get their Covid vaccines is leaked
NHS Kernow says the sharing of the link could result in disciplinary action
A link for health workers to use to book their coronavirus vaccine has been leaked in Cornwall.
It is designed to be used by those working on the frontline, who are clinically at risk or treating vulnerable patients, and allows them to book a slot to get their Covid jab.
NHS Kernow says it is "extremely disappointing" that the link has been shared and it could result in disciplinary action.
Anyone staff members booking their slot must show ID on several occasions before being vaccinated.
Bosses added that there is no evidence that any members of the public outside of the priority groups has had their vaccination.
“It is extremely disappointing that the link provided to frontline health and care workers and those staff who are clinically at risk or treating patients who are clinically vulnerable to book their COVID vaccination has been shared. We have made it very clear that this link is not to be shared on a number of occasions. In light of what has emerged we will reinforce this message in further communications to colleagues that if it is shared the matter will have to be handled as a disciplinary matter.
“We have no evidence that members of the public outside of the priority groups have received a vaccination. We cannot comment on hearsay.
“We would like to reassure everyone that any member of staff receiving their vaccination has their ID checked by marshals at the vaccination centre on point of entry to the site and then again when the person is checked onto the system inside the marquee and prior to their vaccination to ensure they are eligible for the vaccine.
"Staff ID is also checked when colleagues receive their vaccination at the hospital hub at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.”
