On Saturday, CoastalHazards warned that overtopping around the south-west coast is forecast for the next three days.

The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain until 8pm on Saturday.

As a result of the downpours, several flood alerts remain in force across the Duchy, including the West Cornwall Rivers.

"This is an update to the Flood Alert for Saturday 30 January. We have seen up to 11mm of rainfall in the area over Saturday. River levels remain high as ground is saturated.

"No further rainfall is forecast overnight, so levels will begin to gradually fall. However, further rainfall is expected from 6am on Sunday. Rivers are likely to respond, and further Flood Alerts are possible.

"Flooding is possible to low lying land and roads close to the river.

"Take care near the areas of concern and monitor local conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages. This message will be updated by midday on Sunday or earlier if the situation changes".
