The General Election results are in for Cornwall, with the Conservatives losing all of their seats in the county.

Labour has won the election, meaning Sir Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister.

Millions of people headed to polling stations to vote yesterday (Thursday 4 July).

Declarations

Labour's Jayne Kirkham has taken Truro and Falmouth from Conservative's Cherilyn Mackrory.

Andrew George has become MP again for St Ives after losing his seat there in 2015, kicking out Derek Thomas from the Conservatives.

In Camborne and Redruth, Labour (Perran Moon) has won the seat beating the Conservatives (Connor Donnithorne) into second place.

It comes after George Eustice, previous MP for Camborne and Redruth since 2010, stepped down this year.

Labour has also gained St Austell and Newquay and South East Cornwall from the Conservatives, with the Liberal Democrats winning in North Cornwall.

UK Polling Report projections, ahead of the declarations, predicted a Conservative hold for South East Cornwall and North Cornwall, a Liberal Democrat gain for St Ives, a Labour gain for Truro and Falmouth and Camborne and Redruth, and too tight to call for Labour and Conservatives in St Austell and Newquay.

The new MPs for Cornwall

  • North Cornwall - Ben Maguire (Lib Dem)
  • South East Cornwall - Anna Gelderd (Labour)
  • Truro and Falmouth - Jayne Kirkham (Labour)
  • St Austell and Newquay - Noah Law (Labour)
  • St Ives - Andrew George (Lib Dem)
  • Camborne and Redruth - Perran Moon (Labour)
