A stretch of the A30 at Bodmin is set to stay closed until at least tomorrow as a fuel spillage has damaged the road.

The eastbound carriageway at Carminnow Cross is shut and there is said to be heavy traffic in the area.

National Highways says re-surfacing work is being carried out in the area following the incident involving a lorry.

Bodmin Police have confirmed traffic is being diverted through Bodmin and back on at the Callywith on-slip but traffic is very heavy.

They said on Facebook: "This is likely to remain closed at least until tomorrow due to the work needed to clear it up. Please find an alternative route where possible."
