Beachgoers in Cornwall can use a new app to plan their beach days and stay safe by the sea this summer.

As schools break up for the holidays, the 'My Coast' app shows details about 60 RNLI lifeguarded beaches across the Duchy.

The aim is to reduce 'shore-related' incidents and transform our interaction with coastlines.

For those with furry friends, the My Coast app also includes information on which beaches you can take your dog to, and even where to find your nearest poo bin!

My Coast is an all-in-one FREE coastal safety and general information app developed in collaboration with the RNLI.

The council is supporting use of the app, saying on X it will help people have a 'safe and fun summer'.
