Frank Turner is special guest at My Chemical Romance Eden Session
The English singer-songwriter will perform at the Biomes in May
Frank Turner has been announced as a special guest at My Chemical Romance's Eden Session in Cornwall.
The popular English singer-songwriter Frank Turner will join the American band at their gig taking place on May 16th, 2022.
Frank will be accompanied by his backing band The Sleeping Souls for the special performance.
Frank is the former frontman of post-hardcore group Million Dead, who split in 2005. Despite an obvious move towards the folk genre, much of Frank’s solo work still displays his punk sensibilities.
The performance will mark his return to the Eden Sessions, having previously performed in front of the iconic Biomes in 2012.
Frank's ninth and most recent studio album, FTHC, was released on February 11, 2022 and reached number one in the UK albums chart in the week following its release.
Frank began recording the album in the summer of 2020 at the Abbey Recording Studio in Oxford, utilising guest musicians including Muse drummer Dominic Howard featuring on lead single The Gathering, and Ilan Rubin of Nine Inch Nails and Angels & Airwaves handling drums on the vast majority of the album.
Tickets for the My Chemical Romance show with special guest Frank Turner on May 16th are on sale now and are available at www.edensessions.com.
Following their May 16th show, My Chemical Romance will take to the Sessions stage for a sold-out second performance the following evening.
On May 17th, their special guests will be UK-based LostAlone, acclaimed by Alternative Press as “the most underrated band in the history of music.”
LostAlone, comprising Steven Battelle (vocals/guitars), Mark Gibson (drums/ vocals), and Alan Williamson (bass/vocals) built an intensely dedicated following over three albums and through eight years of non-stop touring.
The band crashed the daytime BBC Radio One playlist and the stages of UK, Europe and beyond before screeching to a halt after the release of their critically-acclaimed third record Shapes of Screams (2014).
By 2019 frontman Steven Battelle was a songwriter-for-hire and behind the wheel of a solo career when friends, confidantes and colleagues My Chemical Romance inquired as to his availability to “open a couple of shows next year”.
He said he could not do that but knew of a mothballed melodic alt-rock three-piece who could – hence the return of LostAlone.
Also set to play at this year’s Eden Sessions are Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (June 15), Nine Inch Nails (June 17 and 18), Diana Ross (June 21), Bryan Adams (June 29), and Stereophonics (July 5).
