The family of a missing Cornwall man have thanked the public for their kind words and support following the discovery of a body.

Frank Parsons was last seen two weeks ago at the Porthleven Food Festival, on Friday 22nd April.

Searches were carried out on land, sea and air to try and find the 53-year-old dad.

It has now been confirmed that HM Coastguard teams recovered a body from the sea off St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly on Wednesday.

Devon and Cornwall Police say Frank's loved ones have been informed about the discovery.

In a statement on social media, his family said: "We have been informed by Devon and Cornwall Police that a body has been found on the Isles of Scilly.

"We thank everyone for their support throughout the last 2 weeks in helping us find Frank especially those who have helped search land sea and air, and all your kind words of support and for sharing our posts on social media.

"We are asking for some privacy at this time as we try to come to terms with this news as a family. Thank you."

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
