Four injured in two-vehicle crash on Cornwall's A39

Police, firefighters and paramedics are at the scene near Wadebridge and the bypass is closed in both directions

Police have confirmed four people are injured after a crash on the A39 in Cornwall.

Officers say two vehicles collided near Wadebridge on Friday morning (14th May).

It happened at around 8.40am, between the junctions for Bodmin and Padstow.

The incident has shut the bypass in both directions and is being described as ongoing.

Paramedics and firefighters were also scrambled.

Police had said the casualties' injuries were not believed to be serious, however the road remains closed and we are waiting for an update.

"Police were called with a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A39 near Wadebridge, between Padstow and Bodmin junctions, this morning at around 8.40am.

"There are four casualties. Injuries unknown but not believed to be serious.

"Police in attendance with ambulance and fire crews.

"Incident involved a black Jeep and a silver Renault people carrier.

"Incident ongoing".

"A39 Wadebridge Bypass in both directions closed. Very slow traffic due to accident from A389 to West Hill. Congestion to the main roads through Wadebridge as traffic looks to divert.

"Road remains closed since around 08:45 following an accident. Affecting traffic passing through Wadebridge".

Witnesses and anyone who was in the area beforehand and has dashcam footage are being urged to contact police, quoting log 153 of 14th May.
