Drivers are being warned to take extra care as torrential rain turns Cornwall's roads into rivers.
Flooding had already been reported overnight on Tuesday, in parts of Bodmin and the A30 at Camborne and Penzance.
Elsewhere two people had to be rescued after their car got trapped in rising water near St Austell.
Firefighter Rob Hosking was passing by when he spotted the pair in trouble.
He tweeted this warning: "There's loads of surface water and localised flooding. We've just had to rescue two people from a car stuck in flood water near the A390 St Mewan Dip".
Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service has also tweeted to warn drivers about the aftermath of last night's heavy rain.
What alerts and warnings are in force for Cornwall?
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, that will remain in force until 12pm on Wednesday 20th October.
We are being warned to expect possible flooding, power cuts and travel disruption.
A flood alert has also been issued for the West Cornwall Rivers, thanks to rising levels in the Portreath Stream.
The alert states: "This flood alert has been triggered by the Portreath Stream river level gauge.
"Following heavy rain during Tuesday evening river levels upstream on the Portreath Stream and other small watercourses have risen rapidly, resulting in surface water flooding and localised flooding of low lying ground and minor roads.
"Further heavy showers are expected over night, and with a further band of rain during Wednesday, river levels may increase further on Wednesday night".
