North Cornwall is on flood watch as the Environment Agency issues a flood alert.

It's in force for Upper River Tamar which is likely to affect Bude, Helebridge, Bridgerule, Canworthy Water, Launceston and Yeolmbridge.

The alert is in place from midnight following several days of wet weather and a heavy band or rainfall forcast across Cornwall overnight.

"River levels are forecast to rise. Expected levels suggest that there will be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river from midnight tonight.

"No flooding to properties is currently forecast. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages.

"This message will be updated on Tuesday morning or earlier if the situation changes."
