Five injured and man arrested after car collides with pedestrians in Tintagel

None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening

Five people have been injured after a collision with a car in Tintagel.

Devon & Cornwall Police say they were called to the incident on the B3263 near Tintagel Primary School at 11:50pm yesterday (Sunday 27 August).

South West Ambulance Service, Air Ambulance, and Devon and Cornwall Fire and Rescue also attended.

The five people injured were taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity - none are believed to be life threatening however.

The driver of the car, a 22 year old man, was uninjured and arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

He remains in police custody.

Police are continuing their investigations and are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam footage, to contact the Roads Policing Team, quoting log 1038 of 27 August 2023.
