Fireworks suspected to be to blame in Isles of Scilly fire

Fire crews from Bryher and Tresco were called to the scene

We're being warned to avoid hosting our own firework displays, after a blaze near Rushy Bay on Bryher.

It happened on Wednesday evening, with fire crews from Bryher and Tresco called to the scene.

The Hillside Farm say they heard "2 loud bangs" before the fire started

Fire crews have been thanked for their "quick response" at getting to the scene, with on call firefighters from two islands brought to the scene.

The fire service say they believe the fire near the dunes was caused by a firework

Their advice is to not hold our own firework displays, because they can often result in accidents.
