Fireworks will return to Truro this year for New Year's Eve celebrations on Saturday 31st December.

Two displays will take place in the city - including family fireworks at 19.30 and a traditional midnight display.

The event, organised by Truro City Council, hasn't happened since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mayor of Truro, Cllr Steven Webb, said: "I am delighted to see the return of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks and I look forward to seeing our community celebrate together once again.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generosity and support".

The displays are both free to attend and £3 vouchers will be offered to children attending the family display. They can used on the evening towards food or refreshments from the Raymond's stall on Lemon Quay - and can be collected from volunteers outside Marks & Spencer.

Alun Jones, manager of Truro BID, added: "Stand on Lemon Quay and look towards the river for two sessions of fireworks.

"It's great news because the more people that come in, the more chance people will come in to businesses and buy a drink and so on. It's good for the local economy".
