Firefighters from seven stations across Cornwall battle house fire near Newquay
Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service say two casualties suffered burn after the blaze at White Cross in the early hours of Monday morning
Two casualties have suffered parital burns after a house fire near Newquay.
Crews from the town, St Dennis and St Columb rushed to White Cross in the early hours of Monday morning (28th June).
They called in back-up from Padstow, Wadebridge, Launceston and St Austell, after flames tore through a two-storey property.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the upstairs windows.
Paramedics were also scrambled to the scene of the blaze, which broke out just before 12.30am.
However, just after 4am, Cornwall Fire and Rescue said the incident was being scaled back.
"@ 0021hrs a call was received to critical control reporting a residential property fire.
"Appliances from Newquay, St Dennis & St Columb were mobilised as well as a Flexi Duty Officer.
"@ 0216hrs further resources were requested from Padstow, Wadebridge, Launceston and St Austell including the Water Carrier, Incident Command Unit and the Operational Support Vehicle.
"The property consisted of two storey domestic dwelling measuring 10m by 5m.
"The crew used 6 Breathing Apparatus, 2 Hose reel, 2 Thermal Image Camera.
"Ambulance was in attendance for 2 casualties with partial burns.
"Crews are still in attendance and further updates will posted when available.
"Update @ 0410hrs: The incident is now scaling back to 2 appliances".
