Fire crews have been tackling a large blaze at a residential property in a Cornish village.

Teams were called to the scene in Carharrack at 2.54am this morning (Tuesday 3 October). The roof has partially collapsed.

Pumping appliances from Tolvaddon, Falmouth, Perranporth, and Hayle, along with a water carrier from Helston and operational support unit from Falmouth, are in attendance.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters remain on scene, the incident has been sectorised with firefighters using 10.5 metre and triple extension ladders.

"There are four breathing apparatus in use with two hose reel jets. The property involved has suffered a partial roof collapse so crews are fighting the fire externally.

"National Grid have isolated the electrics to the building. Breathing apparatus has been withdrawn and crews continue to damp down the fire ground."
