Fire crews were called out to a hot tub which set alight earlier this week in Wadebridge.

We're told crews from Padstow, Newquay, Wadebridge, St Columb and Perranporth rushed out to the blaze at 03:20 yesterday morning (4 September)

It spread to a roof space - and firefighters had to use a ladder to tackle it.

Sharing details about the incident, Padstow Community Fire Station said: "Shout 03:23 Bedruthan Steps - Early this morning we were called to attend a fire on a balcony. Following a second call from the occupants further resources from Newquay Community Fire Station and St Columb Community Fire Station were mobilised.

"On arrival the property was well alight with the fire spreading to the interior. The crew acted quickly to prevent the incident escalating. We were soon backed up by oncoming appliances and worked together to extinguish the fire. The water carrier from Wadebridge Community Fire Station was requested to supplement a limited water supply.

"Padstow remained on scene damping down and checking for hotspots, returning to station at 12:30."
