St Austell fire crew tackles "out of control" unattended bonfire

Cornwall Fire and Rescue say it had spread into undergrowth

An unattended bonfire which had gotten "out of control" prompted a response from Cornish firefighters.

A crew from St Austell were called to the scene in Stenalees at around 9.08pm last night (Monday 26 June).

The team put out the blaze which had spread into undergrowth.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue service said: "One crew from St Austell attended a call to an unattended bonfire which had gotten out of control and spread into undergrowth.

"Firefighters used one hose reel and drag rakes to extinguish the fire."
