Woman dies and two others suffer life-threatening injuries after A38 crash in Cornwall

A woman has died following a serious crash on the A38 in south east Cornwall.

Police say two vehicles collided near Landrake at around 3pm on Monday afternoon.

Air ambulances were called to the scene along with officers and firefighters.

Two women were rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries and tragically a third women died at the scene.

The road was closed for hours while investigations were carried out and it reopened just after midnight.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information is being asked to contact officers.

"Police were called to reports of a two vehicle collision on the A38 just outside of Landrake, Cornwall.

"Two women were taken to Derriford Hospital, in Plymouth, by ambulance, with suspected life-threatening injuries, tragically a third women died at the scene.

"The road was closed because of the incident, to allow for investigations to be carried out and for the vehicle’s to be recovered. They were reopened again soon after midnight.

"Enquiries are continuing, Police are appealing for witnesses to make contact on 101 quoting."
