A tree has fallen and blocked part of the main railway line through Cornwall.

There was a warning that trains running between Truro and Par could be cancelled, delayed or revised, and the line towards Plymouth was blocked.

It was affecting Great Western Railway and CrossCountry services with disruption expected until 1pm on Monday morning (27th September).

It is understood that the tree came down in the St Austell area onto the railway tracks.

Tickets were being accepted on First Kernow bus routes instead.

It has now been confirmed that all lines have now reopened.

National Rail said at the time: "A tree is blocking the railway between Truro and Par and all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running through these station may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

"This is expected until 09:00.
