One person injured in serious crash in St Austell

The A391 was closed for some time this morning but has since reopened

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash that closed a major road in Cornwall this morning (Friday 16 June).

Police issued a statement on social media at 4.15am to say it happened on the A391 junction with Carclaze Road, St Austell.

The A391 was shut in both directions for several hours but has since reopened. Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: "Accident cleared on A391 in both directions from Carclaze Road to Treverbyn Road."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Carclaze Road, St Austell at around 3.30am today.

"One person involved has sustained injuries."
