Highest weekly number of Covid related deaths in Cornwall for several months
Latest figures show 11 have been recorded in the Duchy over the last seven days

The number of coronavirus cases in Cornwall increased by 308 in the last 24 hours, official figures show – and one more death was recorded.
A total of 58,000 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Cornwall when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on November 3rd (Wednesday), up from 57,692 on Tuesday.
Latest weekly figures show the Duchy recorded 2,372 new cases in the seven days to last Friday, giving us a case rate of 412.1 per 100,000 people.
Some areas have seen almost double the overall case rate for Cornwall in recent weeks.
Those include parts of Camborne, Pool and Redruth, where the current case rate had topped 1,000 but is dropping. The highest total in the CPR area is Redruth North, at 458.8 per 100,000 people.
Cornwall Council's Public Health Team has warned people that Covid has not gone away and residents and visitors are being urged to remain vigilant, especially over the Bonfire Night weekend.
There was also one more coronavirus death recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Cornwall.
The dashboard shows 567 people had died in the area by November 3rd (Wednesday), up from 566 on Tuesday.
It means there have been 11 deaths in the past week, which is an increase on eight the previous week.
They were among 7,688 deaths recorded across the South West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Cornwall.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than three-quarters of people in Cornwall have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest figures show 417,258 people had received both jabs by November 2nd (Tuesday) – 78% of those aged 12 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 79% of people aged 12 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
