Elderly pedestrian seriously injured in Launceston collision

The 85-year-old was taken to hospital

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Launceston on Wednesday 17 September.

Emergency services were called at 11.35am following the collision between a black Volkswagen Golf and an 85-year-old woman on Link Road near Western Road Roundabout.

The woman from Launceston sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The road was closed for more than five hours for investigative work and an examination of the scene.

Roads policing officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
