Elderly man taken to hospital with serious injuries following crash near Redruth

An elderly man has suffered serious injuries following a crash near Redruth.

A car was involved on Quilkin Avenue in Pool on Sunday afternoon and the details have just been released.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the driver in his 80s was taken to hospital.

Officers are trying to work out what happened and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A force spokesperson said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision in Pool on Sunday 27th February are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a car in Quilkin Avenue, Pool, near Redruth, at around 1pm.

"As a result of the collision, the driver, a local man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Traffic officers, ambulance and the fire service all attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances that led to the collision."
