Police name elderly man who died in A30 crash near Victoria

Police have named the elderly man who died in a crash on Cornwall's A30 near Victoria.

Thomas Andrews, aged 84 and from Truro, lost his life at the scene.

The silver Land Rover Discovery he was driving was involved in a collision on Monday 30th May.

A female passenger was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police were notified at around 7.15pm. Both carriageways of the A30 were closed to allow the Cornwall Air Ambulance to land.

Local officers, as well as officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended and once a forensic investigation had been conducted, the scene was handed over to Highways at around 4.55am.
