Drugs and weapons seized following police raid in Wadebridge

Multiple machetes, axes and a knuckleduster were found at the address

A 'significant' amount of suspected Class A and B drugs have been seized following a raid in the Wadebridge area.

Police say weapons including multiple machetes, axes and a knuckleduster were also found at an address on Tuesday.

Officers say it is an excellent result with the items now out of the community.

Two people have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

Wadebridge Police posted on Facebook: "On Tuesday 29th March 2022 a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was completed at an address in the Wadebridge area.

"Officers located a significant amount of suspected 'Class A & B' drugs along with a large quantity of prohibited and offensive weapons including multiple machetes, axes and a knuckleduster. This is an excellent result with these items now taken out of circulation.

"Two individuals were arrested and enquiries are ongoing including the submission of various items for testing / examination.

"Staff from Bodmin & Wadebridge along with officers from the Force Support Group and a dog handler were involved in completing the warrant and this has come about following excellent partnership working.

"We will continue to pursue all available opportunities to target the possession and supply of illegal drugs and the harmful effects this has on our community. With that in mind, we are very keen to hear from anyone that has any intelligence in relation to these issues."
