Driver freed from car after getting trapped following crash in Roche

Police say no one was seriously injured

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a crash in a Cornish village.

It happened in Roche just before 8.00pm last night (Monday 26 June) involving two-vehicles.

Firefighters helped to save one driver who was trapped in their car.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "Fire appliances from St Dennis and St Austell along with a Rescue tender from Bodmin attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"Crash rescue equipment was used to extricate one casualty from a vehicle.

"The road was closed during the incident and air ambulance attended this incident."

Devon and Cornwall Police say no one was seriously injured.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called just before 8.00pm on Monday 26 June following reports of a collision between a Toyota Hilux and a Nissan Qashqai on Trezaise Road, Roche.

"Whilst no one was seriously injured, one driver was trapped within their vehicle so Fire attended to free the driver of the Toyota.

"The road was reopened at around 11.30pm once full clear up and recovery of vehicles had taken place."
