'Explore from your door' is the message from Devon and Cornwall Police, as the roadmap out of lockdown begins.

From today (Monday 8th March), children across England are going back to school.

People will also be allowed to visit loved ones in person in care homes.

Two people will be allowed to sit together outdoors too.

Previously, two people from different households were only allowed to meet for exercise.

Our force is urging people to rediscover their local area and 'only travel when Covid-19 allows'.

The force has posted a series of tweets on its Twitter page, with the following advice:

"The recent roadmap announcement has us all looking forward to getting back to normal.

"For now stay close to home when exercising; explore further afield when restrictions allow".

They added: "It won't be long until we can travel further away from home - for now find adventure from your own front door.

"Stay home as much as possible and stay local if you need to go out for a permitted reason".
