Drivers in Cornwall are being urged to allow more time to travel this morning following a serious crash on the A30.

The road is currently closed in both directions between the A389 (Bodmin) and the A395 (Pipers Pool).

National Highways say both carriageways are expected to remain closed beyond the morning’s peak travel period as emergency services remain at the scene of the incident, which happened at around 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 2 May).

The collision involved two vehicles. A police collision investigation is currently taking place.

Drivers are advised to avoid this section of the A30 if possible, by delaying journeys or seeking alternative routes.

Diversion

Road users travelling southbound are advised to follow the Solid Square diversion symbol on road signs.

Travelling eastbound exit the A30 at Carminow cross roundabout and take the 3rd exit onto the A38 eastbound. At Carkeel roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A388 northbound re-join the A30 at Launceston. Westbound is the reverse of this route.
