Man suffers head and face injuries following daylight robbery in Saltash

Police say the victim was grabbed from behind and beaten by three men

A man has suffered injuries to his face and head following a robbery in broad daylight in Saltash.

Police say the victim, in his 30s, was grabbed from behind and beaten by three men who then made off with his phone and wallet.

It happened on Belle Vue Road last Thursday afternoon (23rd June) and anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact officers.

In a statement, Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Police are currently investigating a robbery which left a man with face and head injuries.

"The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Belle Vue Road near to the Saltash Social Club on Thursday 23rd June.

"The victim, a man in his 30s, was grabbed from behind and beaten around the head by three unknown males before they made off with his mobile phone and wallet.

"The victim sustained facial swelling and bruising."
