Police appeal for dashcam after crash near Helston claimed a biker's life

Police investigating a fatal crash in west Cornwall have issued an appeal for dashcam footage.

A biker lost his life after his motorbike and a car collided on the A3083 near Helston on Sunday (1st August).

Emergency services rushed to the scene between the junctions for Cury and Garras.

Devon & Cornwall Police are urging anyone who might have seen something just before 3pm to come forward.

Police said: "At around 2.40pm on Sunday 1st August, police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist and a car on the A3083 at Helston.

"The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The road was closed in both directions while the scene was examined by a specialist forensic collision investigator.

"Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, or have dashcam footage, to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting the log number 615 of 01/08/21".
