Cruise trips to Cornwall will bring 70 thousand visitors across the year - and a boost to hundreds of businesses across coastal towns.

It comes after cruise ship which was turned away due to weather conditions, when it was supposed to stop in Falmouth, was described as "disappointing"

Richard Wilcox, the manager of Falmouth BID says the same ship will return to Falmouth Docks in October and will benefit the entire county.

He adds that half of cruise visitors will go on 'shore excursions' around Cornwall, to places like land's End, the Eden Project and Saint Michael's Mount, which further feeds the local economy.

"It's another way in which we can showcase Cornwall to the world, it's 70 thousand visitors, who perhaps have never been to Cornwall before,"__ he says, "If we work really hard so that they have a great experience, they will want to come back"
