Firefighters have been tackling a blaze involving two farm buildings in Cornwall.

Crews were called to the scene off the A394, on the Trewennack side of Helston, at around 6.30pm yesterday (Friday 16 August).

Crews were fighting the fire to stop it spreading to other buildings, with members of the public asked to avoid the area at the time.

In total, six pumps appliances from Helston, St Keverne, Falmouth, and Tolvaddon, two water carriers from Helston and Wadebridge and a breathing apparatus support unit from Falmouth were in attendance.

There was also an incident command unit from St Just and three supervisory officers, as well as a specialist hazardous materials and environmental protection officer on the scene.

Teams worked overnight to put out the flames and at 6.30am this morning (Saturday 17 August), Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the incident had been "scaled back to appliances and the water carrier continuing to turnover and damp down".
