A stretch of Cornwall's A30 was closed between Chiverton and Carland Cross following a crash.

Two vehicles were involved in the Zelah bypass area just after 6.30am on Thursday morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and say there are reports of minor injuries.

There was queuing traffic in the area with the eastbound carriageway staying completely closed for several hours.

The A390 heading towards Truro was also busy because of diverted traffic.

It has now been confirmed that the road has reopened in both directions but is still busy in the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We received reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the A30 at Chiverton Cross at around 6.35am.

"Ambulance has also attended. Currently believed to be minor injuries. The eastbound carriageway is currently closed from Chybucca to Zelah.

"Recovery of vehicles is taking place."

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "Slow traffic due to earlier accident, two vehicles involved on A30 Zelah Bypass Eastbound between B3284 (Allet Turn Off, Allet) and A30 (Goonhavern / Shortlanesend Turn Off, Zelah).

"Congestion to Chiverton Cross. Routes through Truro, including the A390 are busy as long distance traffic diverts through Truro.

"All lanes have been re-opened.

"Reopened just before 10:00 following an accident involving two vehicles near the car dealership earlier this morning.
