Seven people with Covid-19 cared for in Cornish hospitals last week

Five of those patients were at Treliske and two were in community hospitals

NHS England figures show the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust was caring for five coronavirus patients in hospital as of last Tuesday,

The data shows that no people were being treated in hospital for Covid-19 at 8am on December 1st.

There were four beds occupied by Covid-19 patients four weeks ago in Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.

Across England there were 13,629 people in hospital with Covid as of December 8th, with 1,118 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised has increased by 13%, while those on mechanical ventilators has increased by 11%, in the last four weeks across England.

The figures also show that eight new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in the week to December 6th. This was up from four in the previous seven days.

Meantime, Cornwall Partnership Trust was caring for two coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, NHS England figures show.

The data shows that the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on December 8th was down from six on the same day the previous week.

There were three beds occupied by Covid-19 patients four weeks ago in Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The figures also show that three new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in the week to December 6th. This was down from five in the previous seven days.
