Covid-19: Cornwall Airport Newquay suspends all flights

Bosses say the terminal is temporarily closed

Cornwall Airport Newquay has announced all its flights are currently suspended, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Bosses have posted on social media to say the terminal is temporarily closed due to the impact of government guidelines on demand.

Flights are expected to start up again in February and March.

"Cornwall Airport Newquay will close its passenger terminal with effect from Monday 4th January, with all scheduled flights to and from the Airport suspended until mid-February due to the impact of current Government guidelines on demand.

"The Aerodrome remains open to support vital services such as Cornwall Air Ambulance, HM Coastguard Search and Rescue, Business and Military operations."

Flights to London Heathrow, Leeds-Bradford and Manchester are set to start up again from February.

Meantime routes to Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Alicante and Faro are due to re-start throughout March.
