Crews have revealed a couple's home has been all but completely destroyed by a fire in the Cornish village of Wilcove.
At its height, crews from across the Duchy and Devon were battling Sunday's blaze.
At one point, flames were spreading to other properties in a row of terraced houses.
It broke out in the early hours of the morning and some residents were evacuated.
Luckily no-one was injured, however Torpoint Community Fire Station have confirmed one house suffered severe damage.
Neighbours Pammie White has described standing outside with her dog, wearing just a nighty.
She said: "I knew there was a fire from half past one and I rang the police at quarter to two. We all had to go down to the car park and I was down there until 6am in the morning.
"It was just dreadful. The fire was just uncontrollable. It just went boof; it went right up.
"As soon as I walked out of my front door it was just there. The house was just there. It was two metres away.
"The smoke was just horrendous and all the debris of the house has just been going into everybody's gardens so everybody's houses could've caught fire".
Posting on Facebook on Sunday afternoon, Torpoint Community Fire Station said: "A crew of five from Torpoint were mobilised back to the incident at 14:00 this afternoon to take over from the two crews left on scene.
"The crew from Torpoint spend the next four hours dampening down before finally leaving the scene as the last appliance.
"We would like to thank all those residents in the street for their support from the early hours of this morning and the offers of hospitality.
"A special shout out to the Wilcove councillors for opening up their town hall, and The Wilcove Inn for the much needed drinks and Yorkshire Pudding Wraps.
"Our thoughts are currently with the couple who have unfortunately lost their home to the fire".
