More than 60 people in Cornwall test positive for Covid over the weekend
Over 3,700 cases have now been confirmed in the Duchy
The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly increased by 64 over the weekend, official figures show.
Public Health England figures show that 3,732 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (November 30) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, up from 3,668 the same time on Friday.
The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.
The rate of infection in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly now stands at 653 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 2,490.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 40,356 over the period, to 1,629,657.
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly's cases were among the 79,424 recorded across the South West, a figure which rose by 2,028 over the period.
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
