A Cornish schoolgirl has been telling us about her battle with cancer and how one charity made her feel like herself again.

Isabel from Bude was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was three.

Now the seven year old is cancer free after years of treatment and losing her hair.

The Little Princess Trust provides real wigs to children going through chemo and Isabel says they helped her feel normal again when hers fell out.

Isabel's hair grew back but now she had it cut to raise money for the charity and her appeal has already received more than £2,000 in donations.

"Just don't be scared"

Speaking about the wig she received from The Little Princess Trust, Isabel said: "It felt weird at first but then I got used to it and it felt nice. My teacher had to keep tying it up, like when we did it in a ponytail, it kept falling out".

Isabel had this message for other children who lose their hair after cancer treatment: "Just don't really be scared". Dad Nick said "it will grow back won't it", to which Isabel replied "yeah".

Nick tells us he is super proud of his daughter: "I think she went through something like five stages of treatment. It wasn't until the fifth stage where it was quite intense chemotherapy again - all her hair fell out during that stage.

"It was nice to have the wig ready for her when it had fallen out and as soon as her hair started to really thin out, then she could put it on and be like a normal girl again".

Isabel has raised over £2,000 for Little Princess Trust

On her Just Giving page, Isabel said she wanted to donate her hair and raise money for Little Princess Trust because they supported her through her leukaemia treatment.

"My name is Isabel and I am 7 years old. When I was 3 years old I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. This meant I would have to go through nearly 3 years of strong chemotherapy treatment, which would lead to all my hair falling out. But now I am 7 years old and all my hair has grown back and my cancer has gone.

"The Little Princess Trust made me a wig so people didn’t know that my hair had fallen out. When I was wearing my wig it made me feel like my hair didn’t fall out at all. It made me feel normal and happy. The wig was custom made for me and matched my hair colour.

"Now it has grown back I would like to help all those children who have gone through the same things as me by cutting my hair off and raising money for this wonderful charity.

"The Little Princess Trust also did two things to make me feel happier. 1, They made this ballet workshop in London with the world famous ballerina Tara-Brigitte Bhavnani, and 2, I got to watch a strictly come dancing show LIVE! and got to meet all the people that were in the show.

"I want to say 5 more words, Thank You Little Princess Trust!"
