"I'm eternally grateful": Cornwall mum of six thanks community after fire destroys home
Lisa and her children escaped the blaze at Ruan Minor with nothing but the clothes they were wearing
A Cornwall mum of six has shared an emotional thank you to the community after losing everything in a house fire.
The family escaped the blaze at Ruan Minor with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
Firefighters from Mullion, Helston, St Keverne, Falmouth and Tolvaddon rushed to the scene on Saturday night but despite their best efforts, the property was completely gutted.
Since then, several appeals have been launched to support Lisa, with many inundated with donations.
Posting on Facebook, Lisa described the community's support as "amazing" saying she will be "eternally grateful".
"I am overwhelmed by the generosity"
A village hall is packed with donations for the Cornish family who have lost everything in a house fire just days before Christmas.
Mum Lisa-Marie and her six children managed to escape the blaze at Ruan Minor on the Lizard, but were left with nothing except the clothes on their backs.
I literally don't know what to say. Thank-you so so much to each and everyone of you that has messaged, donated and helped.
"I am overwhelmed by the generosity and support from our amazing community and neighbouring villages.
"I am so grateful to each and everyone of you and my amazing friends who have been my absolute rock.
"As horrific as it was I'm just so relieved that I got everyone out and we are safe. That's the most important thing.
"Honestly from the bottom of my heart I am eternally grateful to have such amazing friends, family and the support from people that don't even know me during these challenging times.
"Love to you all, Lisa and the children".
The appeals launched to support the family included a plea for help from other residents.
Since it was posted on the Ruan Minor Noticeboard, organisers have been inundated with donations which filled the village hall from wall to wall.
Sam Jane is among those who have been sorting everything out and said: "Christmas, is going to be really hard for them but I think we're a really amazing community here and I think we'll all pull together and we'll be there for her.
"We'll always be there for her. They're just the most gorgeous family and the loveliest children and they know we'll all be there for them.
"I think just coming in here they'll see that people really do care".
She added: "I can't say thank-you enough; it's been brilliant".
Local crisis response charity, The Sparkle Foundation UK, has also launched an appeal which has so far raised over £10,000.
