A Cornwall man who suffered a heart attack in his 30s has revealed he shed tears of relief at being offered the coronavirus vaccine.

Andrew Stanley has since had to have a defibrillator fitted in his chest.

The 57-year-old has now had his first jab.

It comes a year after the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.

Speaking in a video recorded for Cornwall Council, Andrew is urging everyone who can to get it done.

More than two million people across the south-west have now had a vaccination, including over 228,000 doses in Cornwall.
