Investigations continue after Cornwall house damaged by debris that fell from plane

Investigations are continuing this morning into how a plane on a military training exercise - dropped part of a winch on a Cornwall home.

Draken - the firm operating the aircraft - have apologised, but it's left the house in Tregaswith needing hefty repairs.

The damage - which has left a hole in the roof - has been described as 'total devastation'.

Emergency services were called on Wednesday, with Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene just after 5pm.

We're told that no one was injured as a result of the incident - and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch have been made aware.

A spokesperson for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said: “The AAIB is aware of an incident which occurred in the Newquay area yesterday. We are making enquiries to understand more about the circumstances.”
