Cornwall suicide prevention charity finds permanent base in 'proud' moment
Georgia's Voice said feeling "proud was an understatement" after the move
A suicide prevention charity based in Cornwall has said they are "proud" to move into a permanent base for the first time.
Georgia's Voice was set up by mother Sophie Alway, after her daughter Georgia Gallaway took her own life in 2020.
The charity has been playing a pivotal role in the community, providing support group sessions for those struggling with their mental health.
Now, the organisation is set to expand on their operations as they move into a new office at the Gateway centre in Redruth.
In a post on their social media, the charity said they were incredibly happy with their new premises and were looking forward to helping more people.
"We did it! Proud is an understatement, so emotional!" the charity wrote. "Can’t wait to see this space filled with young women building their tribes, the cosiest of spaces!
"Georgia would love this. I just know she has the biggest smile right now."
Speaking following the launch of the premises, Sophie said: "We’re so delighted that Redruth Charity Trust is supporting our new Georgia’s Voice Hub in Redruth.
"The strength of community spirit in Cornwall is amazing, and I firmly believe that together we can prevent more suicides among young women in our county.”
