Cornwall is braced for what could be its hottest day of the heatwave so far after a Wednesday warmer than Florida!
The Met Office is expecting temperatures to peak Thursday - the last day of its first ever extreme heat warning.
Kernow Weather Team says Grampound recorded highs of 32C yesterday afternoon.
The Met Office extreme heat warning, covering the whole of the south-west, was issued on Monday 19th July.
At that time, it said: "The current hot weather is expected to continue until later this week.
"High temperatures are expected both by day and by night, peaking Thursday before temperatures fall on Friday".
The amber extreme heat warning will remain in force until 23:59pm on Thursday 22nd July.
Public Health England has extended its amber heat-health alert until Friday 23rd July, as temperatures remain high at night.
What is the full forecast for Cornwall and the south-west?
For today (Thursday), the Met Office forecast states: "Fine, sunny conditions continue, with fairly clear skies for most.
"Some cloud bubbling up during the afternoon with the odd isolated shower possible. Becoming rather breezy in exposed areas. Remaining hot, especially in the east. Maximum temperature 31 °C".
Tonight: "Any showers quick to die out as the skies clear for a fine evening. Remaining very warm overnight, a tropical night likely for western parts. Cooler along the south coast. Minimum temperature 15 °C".
Friday: "Another largely dry and hot day on Friday with sunny spells and very isolated showers. Turning cloudier later as heavy, thundery rain approaches, reaching all overnight. Windy in exposed areas. Maximum temperature 27 °C".
Outlook for Saturday to Monday: "Temperatures dropping to around average during this period. Blustery, heavy, slow-moving and possibly thundery showers on Saturday and Sunday with some sunny intervals. Humid, with lighter showers Monday. Breezy".

After the heatwave come the downpours, with a yellow weather warning for torrential rain issued for Cornwall between 00:00am on Saturday 24th July - 23:59pm on Sunday.
