A Cornish pub is only letting customers inside if they have had both of their coronavirus vaccinations.

The Kings Arms in Penryn says people will need to show their vaccination card on entry.

It has brought in the new rule following an influx of visitors to the area and because other premises around Penryn and Falmouth have had to close due to the virus.

The measure will be in place for at least the rest of the week, through until Saturday 19th June.

Posting on Facebook bosses said that anyone who wants to visit the pub who doesn't have proof of both Covid vaccinations will have to head straight to the beer garden and will be served outside.

The pub added that extra cleaning measures have also been brought in and anyone without a face mask will be refused entry.

Their Facebook post reads:

"Edit: Please See starred paragraph for those unvaccinated customers wanting to join us this week. Staff and Regulars have all welcomed this temporary precaution to keep those doors open!

"See below for adapted rules that will apply FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS MINIMUM!!!!

"Right Royalers to protect our own we have come to the HUGE decision to ONLY welcome You stunning people on to the premises that have been vaccinated THOROUGHLY!!

"That means on entry you will need to provide us with your vaccination card!

"**** If you do not have both vaccines or proof of vaccines.... you will be asked to make your way straight down to the beer garden to be served outside in the sunshine ☀️ (again this is just until Saturday) we will be increasing our toilet checks and also increasing the amount of antibacterial touch point cleans to every half hour in keeping with the risk assessments set in place this week *

"We have also brought back our force of NO MASK? NO ENTRY! NO EXCEPTIONS! Again this is to protect all from transmitting or carrying without protection...

"With the influx of people coming into Falmouth, Penryn and Cornwall in general and the recent awful news of pub closures in and around Falmouth due to the virus, we need to keep our staff and you lovelies as safe as possible...

"This is the only way we feel that fits the criteria of keeping everyone safe and to not put unnecessary strain on our staff that are yet to be vaccinated due to age...

"Thanks for your patience during this time!

"From us all here @ KB -Penryn

"Stay Safe and We will keep you updated ASAP."
