Cornish Pirates players pledge to end violence against women and girls

Players from the Cornish Pirates have pledged to end violence against women and girls as part of a new campaign in Penzance.
The ‘16 Days Penzance’ campaign has been launched with a walk and vigil at St Mary’s Church - with the squad sharing a special video message.
CEO Sally Pettipher says the players are proud to speak up for women in their lives and the community, calling violence and abuse “never acceptable”.
Events will continue across the town until the tenth of December, and the video will also be shown at Saturday’s home match against Richmond.
CEO Sally Pettipher said “Our players learn day after day about respect and discipline. They put that into action on and off the pitch. Violence and abuse is never acceptable and I am proud that Cornish Pirates players are willing to speak up on behalf of the women in their lives and in our community.”
