Extensive damage has been caused to a Cornish primary school following a burglary just before Christmas.

Police say offenders entered several play sheds at Biscovey Nursery and Infant School in Par, located in the grounds.

Officers believe it happened sometime between 8pm on Thursday 17 December and 6.50am on Friday 18 December.

Substantial damage was caused to the sheds and the equipment inside, and paint was poured over the playground.

Offensive graffiti was also drawn inside the sheds.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are asking for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the school at the time of the offence to contact them.
