A seaside town in Cornwall is being urged to come together for a free dinner on Christmas Day.

Chef Annclara Brown has organised the event in Perranporth for 10 years and while usually laid on to help the homeless, this year she is opening it up to the whole community.

Annclara says the three-course meal is open to anyone, whatever their situation. Whether it is a case of not having plans, feeling lonely or just wanting to make new friends - everyone is welcome.

Whatever their situation, she is urging people not to be alone on Christmas Day!

The event is being held at St Michael's Church Hall and food will be served 12-4pm, or you can pop round and take your food in a takeaway box.

Posting the details on a local Facebook page, chef Annclara thanked everyone who has pulled together to help or donated food and supplies.

She said: "Not long to go now until we all gather together and enjoy a three course meal on Christmas Day.

"If you haven’t got any plans or know someone who is lonely on Christmas Day please do let me know as I will arrange transport to pick them up and bring them back home.

"A lot of people have offered to provide transport so please don’t be shy. Come with your family or neighbours. This is also a day to make new friends. Don’t be alone on Christmas Day. Come and meet new people. This is open to everyone".

Annclara added: "Thank you to everyone who has offered to come help decorate the hall in morning and help serving food.

"Please share the post from my profile so many people will be aware.

"You are also welcome just to pop in for tea or coffee and a cake.

"Thank you to all local pubs that have offered veggies, meat and takeaway boxes".

Annclara is urging anyone who with dietary enquiries to email her at annclara@gmail.com
